Corporate Event Management in Abu Dhabi

Conferences, gala dinners, facility openings and team days across Abu Dhabi, planned and delivered by one Dubai-based team: concept, venue, production, logistics and on-the-day management, for businesses only.

In short

Purrple Orryx Events delivers corporate event management in Abu Dhabi from its Dubai South base, covering concept, venue, production, branding, entertainment, catering coordination, transport and on-the-day management. It runs conferences, gala dinners, facility openings, team days, family days and launches with its Dubai team, and produced MT Group’s production facility opening in the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi for 150 to 200 guests. 01

An event company for Abu Dhabi, run from Dubai

Purrple Orryx is a corporate event management company based in Dubai South, working with businesses since 2013. We deliver events in Abu Dhabi with the same team that runs our Dubai work. There is no separate Abu Dhabi office: the project manager who writes your plan travels with the crew and runs the day.

We work only with companies, and only end to end: concept, venue, production, branding, entertainment, catering coordination, transport and on-the-day management, with one point of contact. We don't rent out equipment on its own.

In the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi we produced the opening of MT Group's new production facility for 150 to 200 guests: a guided plant tour, ribbon cutting, live demonstrations and a networking lounge, with branding approved by a government stakeholder at fixed checkpoints. Read the MT Group case study.

Beyond Abu Dhabi, we have opened facilities in Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai Industrial City, and we support clients in Riyadh as a Dubai-based partner through our event management in Saudi Arabia.

Corporate events we deliver in Abu Dhabi

01

Conferences and summits

Annual staff conferences, leadership summits and partner meetings in hotel ballrooms or exhibition halls. We handle stage and screen design, AV, speakers, registration, breakout rooms and live streaming where needed. More on our conference and seminar management.

02

Gala dinners and awards nights

Year-end dinners, partner galas and recognition nights in a ballroom, on a resort lawn in the cooler months, or in a marquee. We design the stage, run the show from backstage and manage seating and VIP arrivals. See how we plan a corporate gala dinner.

03

Facility and factory openings

Openings at plants and warehouses, where the site was never built for guests. We plan the guest route through the facility, build the ceremony area with its own power and cooling, coordinate VIP and government protocol and manage branding approvals. Read about our grand opening events.

04

Team building

Half-day or full-day programmes for a department or the whole company: indoor challenges in hotel function rooms, beach and outdoor formats from October to April, and facilitated debriefs tied to your goals. Explore our team building formats.

05

Family days

Staff and family days with activity zones, children's areas, food stalls and stage entertainment, usually at a resort in the cooler months, with shade, supervision and a weather fallback planned in. See our family day events.

06

Product launches

Launches for dealers, media or clients: a staged reveal, screen content, demonstrations and a hosted reception, with the show run rehearsed with your speakers. Read more about product launch events.

03

Abu Dhabi venue types and what each suits

The right venue depends on guest numbers, where guests are travelling from and how much has to be built. We shortlist options against your brief and join the site visits; our venue selection service covers this in more detail.

01

Yas and Saadiyat Island resorts

Resort hotels with ballrooms, lawns and beach space suit gala dinners, family days and retreats. Outdoor space works from roughly October to April. Yas sits on the Dubai side of the city, which shortens the drive when part of the group is Dubai-based.

02

Corniche and city hotels

City-centre hotels suit conferences and awards dinners for Abu Dhabi-based teams and government-facing audiences. Ballroom access hours set the build schedule, which is often overnight or on the morning of the event.

03

ADNEC and exhibition centres

Exhibition centres such as ADNEC suit large conferences and showcases that need open floor space, rigging points and loading access. Halls set their own rules for contractors, build times and approvals, which we work through with the venue.

Industrial zones such as ICAD and KEZAD

For a facility or factory opening, the venue is your own site, for example in the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD) or Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD). Nothing is set up for guests, so we plan power, a tent or shade, cooling, toilets, parking and a safe route through the plant.

04

How we deliver an Abu Dhabi event from Dubai

An event in another emirate is mostly a logistics exercise. This is how we handle it, so you still have one plan, one budget and one contact.

  • Crew and travel: our project team and crew travel from Dubai for the site visit, build, event and breakdown. For overnight builds or early starts we book crew accommodation near the venue.
  • Set build and transport: staging, set pieces and branding are fabricated and checked in Dubai, then trucked to the venue in build order.
  • Guest transport: when part of your audience is in Dubai, we arrange coaches and pick-up points and set the start time around the drive.
  • Permits and approvals: events in the emirate are licensed through the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi. At hotels and exhibition centres we work through the venue's events team; industrial sites and free zones have their own access and safety rules for contractors.
  • Catering: usually provided by the venue. We coordinate menus, service timings and dietary needs with them as part of the run sheet.

05

How the process works

For most conferences, gala dinners and family days, eight to twelve weeks from brief to event is comfortable. Openings with government guests and large conferences need longer.

01

Brief and objectives

A call or meeting about your audience, goal, date, guest numbers and budget range. From that we suggest formats and venue types, usually within a few days.

02

Concept and proposal

A concept, venue options, an outline run of show and an itemised quote, typically within one to two weeks of the brief. We refine it with you until scope and budget are agreed.

03

Site visit and planning

We visit the venue to check power, ceiling height, access and loading, then produce layouts, design mock-ups and a production schedule. Approvals start at this stage.

04

Production and rehearsal

Fabrication, printing, AV and entertainment are booked and built. We brief speakers and the MC, confirm the run sheet with the venue and rehearse on site where the venue allows.

05

Event day and breakdown

Our team runs the day from set-up to breakdown: guest arrivals, show calling, vendors and late changes. Afterwards we send a wrap-up and gather your feedback.

06

Planning an Abu Dhabi event: season, timing and budget

Season comes first. From roughly June to September the daytime heat rules out outdoor activities, so summer events move indoors or start after sunset. October to April suits beach team days, lawn dinners and family days, and is when popular venues book up. Check Ramadan and public holiday dates, which move each year.

Timing matters more when guests travel. If much of your team is based in Dubai, a late-morning or evening start avoids the worst traffic, and a dinner may need coach transfers home or rooms at the resort.

What drives the budget:

  • Guest numbers and format: a seated dinner, a conference or an activity day
  • Venue type: a hotel ballroom includes much of the infrastructure, while a factory site or open ground needs a tent, power, cooling and facilities built in
  • Production scale: staging, LED screens, lighting, effects and set pieces
  • Build windows: overnight or same-day builds need extra crew
  • Crew travel, accommodation and transport from Dubai, plus guest transfers
  • Entertainment, gifts, printing and any permits the event needs

We don't publish prices because two events of the same type can differ widely. Send your date, guest count and objective through our planning form and we'll return an itemised proposal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have an office in Abu Dhabi?

No. We are based in Dubai South and deliver Abu Dhabi events with the same Dubai team of project managers and production crew. The team travels for the site visit, build, event and breakdown, and stays locally when the schedule needs it. Travel is costed in the proposal from the start.

What corporate events do you organise in Abu Dhabi?

Conferences and summits, gala dinners and awards nights, facility and factory openings, team building days, family days and product launches. We manage each one end to end, from concept and venue to production and the event day. We work with businesses only, not private or social events.

How far in advance should we start planning?

For most conferences, gala dinners and family days, start eight to twelve weeks ahead. Allow more time for large conferences, events with government or VIP guests, and dates between October and April, when popular venues fill up. Shorter timelines are possible: we delivered a carnival family day for about 500 guests in Dubai one week after confirmation.

Do we need a permit for a corporate event in Abu Dhabi?

It depends on the event and the venue. Events in the emirate are licensed through the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, and entertainment, outdoor set-ups or public access can bring extra approvals. At hotels and exhibition centres we work through the venue's events team, and on industrial sites we follow the zone's rules. We confirm what applies during planning.

How much does a corporate event in Abu Dhabi cost?

It depends on guest numbers, the venue, the scale of staging and AV, build time, entertainment and transport. We don't publish fixed prices; share your date, guest count and objective and we'll send an itemised proposal you can compare line by line.

Can you run a facility or factory opening in ICAD or KEZAD?

Yes. We produced MT Group's production facility launch in the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi for 150 to 200 guests, with a plant tour, ribbon cutting, live demonstrations and branding approved by a government stakeholder. We plan the guest route, power, cooling, protocol and safety with your site team.

Which Abu Dhabi venues suit which events?

Yas and Saadiyat Island resorts suit gala dinners, retreats and family days. Corniche and city hotels suit conferences and awards dinners. ADNEC and other exhibition centres suit large conferences, and your own site suits an opening. We shortlist venues against your guest numbers, travel and budget.

Can you organise corporate team building in Abu Dhabi during summer?

Yes, indoors. From June to September we use hotel function rooms and other indoor venues for challenges, workshops and games, or move outdoor formats to the evening. Beach and outdoor activities work best from October to April. We shape the programme around your goals, group size and the time you have.

Do you also manage events in Dubai, other emirates and Saudi Arabia?

Yes. We are based in Dubai and deliver across the UAE, including Ras Al Khaimah, where we ran a facility opening and a team building day for Peikko Gulf. In Saudi Arabia we work as a Dubai-based partner for clients running events there, including an exhibition booth, a 500-guest gala dinner and a conference in Riyadh in 2025.
