Exhibition Stand Builder in Dubai

We design, build, install and run custom exhibition stands for companies at Dubai trade shows, from a shell-scheme upgrade to a two-storey space-only stand. One team handles the 3D design, organiser approvals, fabrication, show support and dismantling.

In short

Purrple Orryx Events designs, builds, installs and runs custom exhibition stands at Dubai trade shows, handling 3D design, organiser and venue approvals, fabrication, AV and graphics, show support and dismantling. Stands range from shell-scheme upgrades to double-deckers, it delivered a World Defense Show booth in Riyadh in 2025, and Biognost has booked it for Medlab Dubai three times. Send your show and plot size via the planning form or WhatsApp.

01

Exhibition planning, design and build with one team

Most exhibitors end up managing a stand designer, a fabricator, an AV supplier, a printer and the organiser’s paperwork separately. We take all of it: we design the stand around your products and sales goals, prepare the drawings the organiser and venue need, build it through our workshop network, install it, support you during the show and take it down afterwards.

Purrple Orryx has been a corporate event company in Dubai since 2013, and we work only with businesses. We build stands for meetings, demos and lead capture, not looks alone. Lab, medical, technology, food and heavy machinery exhibitors have used us at shows including Medlab, Arab Lab, Gulfood and Middle East Energy.

Exhibition stand types we design and build

01

Custom space-only stands

When you book raw floor space, the stand is designed from the floor up: platform, walls, ceiling features, storage, meeting areas and lighting. The layout follows how you sell: a demo zone facing the aisle, a counter for lead capture and a quieter corner for serious conversations. Drawings need organiser and venue approval, which we prepare and submit.

02

Double-decker stands

A second storey adds meeting space without giving up floor area. The usual split is private meeting rooms or hospitality upstairs, with products and demos below. Two-storey stands need structural engineering, extra approvals and longer build-up, so they should start earliest. We have built them for Cummins at Middle East Energy and Switz Group at Gulfood.

03

Modular and system stands

Modular stands use reusable frame systems with printed fabric graphics, panels and lightboxes. They go up faster, cost less to rebuild and can be reconfigured for different plot sizes, which suits companies that exhibit several times a year. We often combine a modular structure with custom counters, plinths and screens so the stand doesn’t look off the shelf.

04

Country and pavilion stands

A national or group pavilion brings several co-exhibitors under one identity. Each company needs its own counter, graphics and storage, while the whole area has to read as one presence from the aisle. We plan the shared reception, meeting area and signage plus the individual pods, and collect content from every exhibitor against one deadline.

05

Shell-scheme upgrades

Shell scheme is the organiser’s basic booth: walls, fascia, carpet, lighting and some furniture. Within the organiser’s rules, we upgrade it with full-wall graphics, branded counters, lightboxes, shelving, screens and better furniture, so a small booth doesn’t look like every other one in the row. It suits first-time exhibitors and tighter budgets.

03

How our stand design and build process works

For a custom stand, allow three to four months from first brief to show day.

01

1. Brief and plot review

We start with your plot: size, open sides, hall position and the organiser’s height and build rules. Then your goals: products to show, meetings to hold and what a good show looks like for you. Budget is agreed here, so the design is built to it.

02

2. 3D design and revisions

You get 3D renders showing structure, materials, graphics and lighting, plus a floor layout showing how visitors move through the stand. We run revisions to a fixed timetable so the organiser’s deadlines are never at risk.

03

3. Approvals and submissions

Every show has an exhibitor manual with deadlines for stand drawings, contractor documents and service orders such as electricity and rigging. We prepare the technical drawings and paperwork, submit them to the organiser and venue and answer their comments. Two-storey and suspended structures need extra structural detail.

04

4. Fabrication and mock-up

The stand is made in our workshop network: joinery, metalwork, finishes, graphics and AV integration. Where it helps, we mock the stand up and test screens, AR or VR set-ups before the show, so problems are found in a workshop rather than the hall. Components are packed and delivered in build order.

05

5. Installation and handover

Build-up takes place in a short window before the show opens. Our crew installs the structure, graphics, lighting and AV. Heavy machinery is delivered and placed first, then the stand is built around it. Before handover, we walk the finished stand with you.

06

6. Show support and dismantling

During the show, our team stays on call for repairs, faults and graphic changes. When the show closes, we dismantle within the organiser’s breakdown window, clear the plot and handle materials as agreed in advance.

04

When to start, and what drives the cost of a stand

Start three to four months before the show. That can feel early, but organisers set their design approval deadlines weeks before build-up, and your own team has to sign off the design before it goes in. Double-decker stands need longer.

Shorter timelines are possible. We delivered Switz Group’s two-storey stand at Gulfood after being confirmed three weeks before the show. It works, but it narrows design choices and leaves no room for late changes.

We don’t publish price lists, because stand costs depend on specifics. The main drivers are:

  • Size and open sides: more floor area and more open sides mean more structure, flooring and finishing.
  • Storeys and height: a second level adds engineering, approvals and build time.
  • Materials: custom joinery, backlit fabric and premium flooring cost more than system frames and printed panels.
  • AV and technology: LED walls, screens, touch tables and VR or AR set-ups, plus backup equipment.
  • Rigging and venue services: suspended banners, electrical load, water and internet ordered through the organiser or venue.
  • Reuse: a stand designed to be rebuilt can lower the cost per show if you exhibit several times a year.

Send us your show, plot size and a rough budget through our event planning form and we will tell you what is realistic for it.

Exhibition stands we have built

01

Double-deckers at Gulfood and Middle East Energy

We designed and built two-storey stands for Switz Group at Gulfood and Cummins at Middle East Energy, each with a private meeting deck upstairs and open product and demo space below. Engineers verified the mezzanine structure before handover. For Switz Group, confirmed three weeks out, components were prefabricated, mocked up in our warehouse and delivered in build order. Read the double-decker stands case study.

02

Medlab and Arab Lab stands

We build custom stands for lab, medical and technology exhibitors including Biognost, Konica Minolta, Labtech and PHC. Biognost has booked us as its stand contractor for Medlab Dubai three times. AR and VR set-ups are tested in our facility with backup equipment ready, and every stand gets a mock-up and final walkthrough. See the Medlab and Arab Lab stands case study.

03

A World Defense Show booth in Riyadh

Dubai-based clients also take us to Saudi Arabia. In 2025 we delivered a booth at the World Defense Show in Riyadh as their Dubai-based partner. Read more about our event management in Saudi Arabia.

06

Exhibiting at GITEX, Gulfood, WHX and other Dubai shows

Dubai’s large trade shows include GITEX Global, Gulfood, WHX (formerly Arab Health), Medlab, Middle East Energy and The Big 5, held at Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City Dubai. Each show has its own exhibitor manual, deadlines, height limits and contractor rules. Whatever the show, the discipline is the same: read the manual early, design to its rules and submit on time.

A stand rarely works on structure alone. Screens, LED walls, lighting and sound come from our audio-visual team, and graphics, lightboxes and printed collateral from our printing and branding service. Larger structures and bespoke joinery use the same event fabrication and set-up capability we use for launches and activations. If you are hosting a product launch or client dinner around the show, we can plan that too.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an exhibition stand cost in Dubai?

It depends mainly on size, open sides, number of storeys, materials, AV and how much of the stand can be reused. A shell-scheme upgrade costs a fraction of a custom space-only stand, and a double-decker adds engineering and approval work on top. We don’t publish price lists. Send us your show, plot size and goals, and we will quote against a design that fits your budget.

How early should we start planning an exhibition stand?

Three to four months before the show. Organisers set design approval deadlines weeks before build-up, and you need time for design rounds and internal sign-off before that. Double-decker stands need longer. We have delivered a stand on three weeks’ notice, but short timelines limit design options and leave no margin for changes.

Do you design and build stands from scratch?

Yes. Most of our stands are custom: designed around your plot, products and sales goals, then fabricated in our workshop network, installed, supported during the show and dismantled by our team. We also work with modular systems and shell-scheme upgrades when they suit your budget or you exhibit often.

Do you handle organiser and venue approvals?

Yes. We work from the show’s exhibitor manual, prepare the stand drawings and technical documents, submit them to the organiser and venue, and respond to their comments. We also coordinate electrical and rigging orders to match the design. Two-storey and suspended structures need extra structural detail, which we prepare as part of the submission.

Which exhibitions have you built stands for?

Our stands have appeared at Medlab, Arab Lab, Gulfood and Middle East Energy in Dubai, among other UAE trade shows, and we delivered a booth at the World Defense Show 2025 in Riyadh. Exhibitors include Biognost, which has booked us for Medlab Dubai three times, Konica Minolta, Labtech, PHC, Cummins and Switz Group.

Do you build exhibition stands in Saudi Arabia?

Yes, for companies that work with us from Dubai. We delivered a booth at the World Defense Show 2025 in Riyadh and run events in the Kingdom as a Dubai-based partner. We have no Saudi office, so the project is managed by our Dubai team from brief to dismantling.

Can you supply AV, lighting and graphics for the stand?

Yes, as part of the stand. Screens, LED walls, lighting, sound, AR or VR set-ups, graphics and lightboxes are designed in with the structure, so they are placed, powered and tested properly. We don’t rent out equipment or print on its own; it comes as part of a stand or event we deliver.

Are you a stand contractor or an event company?

Both. We are a Dubai corporate event company that designs and builds exhibition stands, so one team can deliver your stand and the events around the show, such as a product launch, press conference or client dinner. That saves you managing a stand contractor and a separate event agency during show week.
