An iftar brings a whole company, or its most important clients, to the same table at the same moment. It is also time-critical in a way other dinners are not: dates and water must be on the table at maghrib, not ten minutes later, and the evening has to respect the month.
Purrple Orryx has organised corporate events in Dubai since 2013, for businesses only. For Ramadan we source the venue or build the tent, design the décor, coordinate food and drink with the venue or caterer, book entertainment, manage guests and branding, and prepare gifts. You brief one project manager, who stays with the event through the night.
Ramadan work is seasonal. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin in February 2027, subject to the moon sighting, and the best venues and tents are taken in the weeks before. We cover Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE, and support clients in Saudi Arabia from our Dubai base.

The iftar for your whole team, from one department in a private dining room to several hundred staff in a ballroom or tent. Guests break the fast together at maghrib and share a meal. A short thank-you from leadership and a sensible finish time keep attendance high.
A hosted evening for customers, distributors or government partners. Guest lists are smaller and more senior, so arrival, seating and hosting matter more than scale. Majlis seating, Arabic coffee service, restrained branding and a considered gift at departure work better here than a stage show.
Suhoor starts later, usually from about 10pm, and has a looser lounge feel than an iftar. It suits networking and client evenings, and avoids the rush-hour drive before sunset. We plan lounge seating, lighter food service and live traditional music, and close around midnight to 1am.
A tent or majlis set up for several nights, at a hotel, on your premises or outdoors, hosting a different group each evening: staff one night, clients the next, partners after that. One build serves the whole programme and spreads the set-up cost.
Staff pack iftar boxes together as a team activity, for distribution through a licensed UAE charity. It gives the month a purpose beyond dinner. We handle supplies, the packing space, branding and coordination with the charity, as with our other team building events.
When Ramadan ends, Eid al-Fitr is a natural moment to thank the team: an office breakfast, a lunch or an evening with music, sweets and gifts. Because Eid also depends on the moon sighting, we plan it around a flexible date and confirm suppliers once the date is announced.

Most corporate iftars are held in a hotel ballroom or a hotel's Ramadan tent, but a majlis in your courtyard or a tent on company land also works. Our venue selection service shortlists options against your guest count and budget, and we check each one on a site visit.
Concepts come from our theme-based events team, performers through our entertainment services and gift boxes through our corporate gifts service. We don't sell catering on its own: food is coordinated as part of the event we manage.

Everything at an iftar runs from maghrib, the sunset prayer that ends the day's fast. Its time shifts a little each day through the month, so we confirm it for your exact date and build the running order back from it. A typical plan:
Keep the tone on gratitude rather than sales. Ask staff, hosts and performers to dress modestly, keep the evening alcohol-free, and choose soft traditional music over a DJ. Venues may set their own rules on music during Ramadan, and we confirm them at booking.

Ballrooms, Ramadan tents and good performers go early, and many companies want the same nights. Brief us about two months before Ramadan begins; Ramadan 2027 is expected in February 2027, subject to the moon sighting. Hold two or three dates, and avoid the last ten nights, which many guests keep for worship and family.
An iftar suits whole-company events and senior guests, because breaking the fast together gives the evening its focus. A suhoor suits networking and client lounges. Some companies do both: an iftar for staff and a suhoor for clients.
A few dozen guests fit a private dining room or a small majlis. A hundred or more need a ballroom or a hotel tent. Larger groups need a dedicated tent or a ballroom with a stage and screens. We have produced seated evenings for 400 to 500 guests, such as the MENALAC Awards gala.
Ramadan currently falls in Dubai's cooler months, so open-air iftars, garden majlis set-ups and desert venues are realistic. Evenings can turn windy or cool, so plan side walls or an indoor fallback. Outdoor and public locations may need permits, which we build into the timeline.
Not every guest is fasting, and some will be new to Ramadan. A line in the invitation explaining iftar, a clear dress guide, a prayer area with mats and the qibla marked, and vegetarian and allergy-aware options help everyone feel at ease.

Six to eight weeks is the right lead time. Shorter is possible when the venue is confirmed, but choice narrows quickly as Ramadan approaches.

Ask guests to arrive about 45 minutes before maghrib, the sunset prayer, so everyone is seated when the fast is broken. Maghrib moves a little each day, so we confirm the exact time for your date. Most corporate iftars close two to two and a half hours after maghrib.
With us, everything: venue or tent, Ramadan décor, food and drink coordinated with the venue or caterer, entertainment, invitations and RSVPs, seating, registration, a prayer area, branding and gifts. One project manager plans the event with you and runs it on the night, including the timing to maghrib.
Yes, as part of an event we plan and manage. We can dress a hotel Ramadan tent, build a tent or majlis on your premises or at an outdoor site, or run one for several nights as a programme for staff, clients and partners. Outdoor and public sites may need permits. We don't rent tents on their own.
It depends mainly on guest numbers, the venue's per-person food and beverage package, whether a tent or majlis has to be built, the level of décor, entertainment, gifts and the number of nights. No. We don't sell standalone iftar or suhoor catering. Food and drink are coordinated with the venue or a caterer as part of a corporate event we plan and manage, including menus, dietary requirements and making sure dates and water are on every table at maghrib.
