Planning a corporate event? We plan and deliver corporate National Day celebrations end to end.

A UAE National Day celebration works best when it is planned as a proper company event: one clear purpose, a date fixed early, a format that suits your people and your premises, and details that respect the country you are celebrating. For most companies that means briefing your event partner five to six weeks before 2 December, and two to three months ahead for anything larger. This guide covers the formats companies in Dubai choose, the timeline, the details that matter and what to send for a quote.

When is UAE National Day, and what is Eid Al Etihad?

UAE National Day falls on 2 December, the day the union was formed in 1971. Since 2023 the official celebrations have used the name Eid Al Etihad, while most companies still call it National Day. 2026 marks the 55th National Day. The days around it are public holidays, so most companies celebrate on the last working day or two before the holiday, usually in the final week of November.

What kind of National Day celebration should your company hold?

Start with who it is for. A celebration for your own team is different from an evening for clients and government partners, and both are different from a day families attend. The formats we plan most often are:

  • Office or staff celebration: an Emirati welcome with Arabic coffee and dates, a heritage corner, traditional music, a short address from leadership and a meal, held on your premises during the working day.
  • Heritage village or walk-through: a route through the story of the UAE, with a fort facade, old souq stalls, a dhow and pearling scene, a Bedouin tent and a majlis. It suits headquarters, campuses and free zones with large teams and visitors.
  • Client and partner evening: a hosted dinner or lunch with majlis seating, Emirati food, live performers and a short programme.
  • Office and lobby decor: the national colours across your reception and floors, entrance arches and a photo wall, installed out of hours.
  • Family-day format: the staff programme plus a kids' area, face painting, crafts and heritage games.

You can see all of these on our corporate National Day celebrations page.

How far ahead should you plan?

Most National Day briefs reach event companies in November, and the last three weeks before the holiday are the busiest. Performers, heritage props, majlis sets and good venues go first. As a rule of thumb:

  • Two to three months ahead for a heritage village, a large client evening or anything that needs building or permits.
  • Five to six weeks ahead for most office and staff celebrations.
  • Under three weeks is possible for a small office celebration, but your choice of performers and props will be narrower.

Fix the date before anything else. If your teams work in shifts or across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, decide early whether to run the programme twice or in two places.

What does a corporate heritage village look like?

For the UAE's 45th National Day we set up a heritage village on the forecourt of Dubai South's headquarters. A red-carpet street of palm frond souq stalls showed old trades with life-size figures and an information board at each stall. Around it stood a fort replica with cannons, a dhow and pearling scene, a Bedouin tent, arish majlis rooms, a garden lounge marked with a large 45, a kids' zone in the flag colours, a vintage car display and a falconry corner. People could walk the route at their own pace through the day. Read the Dubai South case study.

Which details matter most?

National Day is about the country, so the details carry weight. The ones we check on every celebration:

  • The flag: hung the right way up, clean and undamaged, never on the floor and never printed with other text or logos.
  • National symbols and images of the leadership: used only where appropriate and from correct sources.
  • Hospitality: Arabic coffee and dates on arrival, Emirati dishes such as luqaimat, and food for every diet in a mixed workforce.
  • Dress and music: traditional dress welcome but never required, and performers chosen for a business setting.
  • Timing: a programme that fits the working day, with speeches kept short.

Can you hold it on your own premises?

Yes, and most companies do. Offices, lobbies, forecourts, warehouses and campuses all work. The points to settle early are building management approval, access for set-up out of working hours, power, and how the space returns to normal after the holiday.

What drives the cost?

There is no standard package price, because a lobby celebration for 60 staff and a heritage village for a whole campus are different jobs. The main factors are the number of guests, the site or venue, how many themed zones and sets you want, performers and experiences such as falconry or henna, food and hospitality, and the hours needed to set up and clear.

What to send your event company for a quote

  • Your preferred date and a back-up date
  • Where you want to hold it: your premises, a hotel or another venue
  • How many guests, and who they are: staff, families, clients or partners
  • The format you have in mind, or the purpose if you are not sure yet
  • Any must-haves, such as a leadership address, gifts or photography

Send those to us and we will come back with ideas and a costed proposal. Plan your National Day event with our team, or message us on WhatsApp from any page of this site.
